One of my favorite class lectures was the class lecture on Blanches illusion and why she wanted to live in a fantasy rather then a reality. In class we listened all the things that Blanche desired because of what she had lost. She wanted things such as financial stability, a Husband and a family, as well as the acceptance of her own sister Stella. We went over that she desired all these things and since she didn't not have them she to live in her own personal illusion rather then the harsh reality that she was in.
My second favorite class lecture was the In class project we did on Interpreter of Maladies. When my group got the assignment of finding a picture that represented the end of the story as well as remaking the ending I thought it be a fairly simple project. Especially when I was given the task of finding the image. But it was no as simple as first though I was frustrated that I could not find an image that correctly represented such a vivid ending so determined to to it right I made my own. And when I did make it I liked the way it came out and was oddly stratified that the project had challenged me in a unique way and I was able to overcome it.
My third and final favorite class lecture was when we had to find Ernest Hemingway quotes but them on index cards and we read them a loud. Hills Like White Elephants was my favorite of the short stories we read and I found Hemingway to be a very interesting author. I loved how all his quotes seemed real and grounded in reality despite the fact that he was a very smart man. All his quotes seemed to connect with a normal everyday person. And the story with my personal favorite quote from him being "The shortest answer is to do the thing." Which I saw as meaning that instead of debating and planning on how to do a project the best way to do is is start it and see where it take you.
